The fall local elections are nonpartisan, and so no party affiliation will be listed next to any candidate's name. Here is a list of those Democrats who will be on the ballot in the November municipal elections. In Chapel Hill, two candidates have opted in to the new Voter Owned Election experiment, Mark Kleinschmidt for Mayor and Penny Rich for Town Council.
An early version of this page inadvertently omitted Michelle Brownstein, candidate for Chapel Hill/Carrboro School Board. Gary Wallach, a school board candidate, has withdrawn and so is omitted from this list.
