Dear fellow Democrats,
Our County Convention, on April 9, will elect new members to the State Democratic Executive Committee. I have set up a nominating committee – Albert Kittrell, Connie Mullinix, Samantha Cabe, Tom Tillett, and Barry Katz. It will review interested candidates and make recommendations based on pertinent experience. Please submit candidates' names to: candidate@orangedems.com. Naturally, other nominations from the County Convention floor are welcome.
The UNC Young Democrats Club is bringing famed political analyst and consultant Paul Begala to Chapel Hill on April 18th for a reception and speech on UNC’s campus. They have raised nearly all the money to cover his honorarium and travel, but they need YOU to contribute and attend this event. Show your support for the next generation of Democratic leadership and send in contributions to the OCDP office or bring your checks with you (made out to UNC-Young Democrats).
During the past campaign season they spent thousands of hours volunteering during our “63 Days of Campaigning” program. Locally, they worked with the Coordinated Campaign, Erskine Bowles, and David Price. They had unprecedented success in getting out the student vote at UNC.
The Orange County Dems consider this group an integral part of the local political community and, in this spirit, welcome our neighbors to join us.
