Featuring the Political Junkies: Michael Carmichael and Steve Gheen

                   Steve Gheen, a North Carolina attorney and veteran of many Democratic political campaigns, is the founder of The Political Junkies, a webzing.  He has held Democratic Party leadership on the state and national levels, and his passion is working for Democratic victories. Michael Carmichael worked as a political consultant for at least eight US Democratic presidential campaigns, as Press Secretary and Special Assistant Attorney General under NC Attorney General Rufus Edmisten, and for over two decades based in Oxford, England, as advisor to international political and commercial clients.  Discussing politics, history, culture and American presidential campaigns, Carmichael has appeared as a public affairs expert on the BBC’s World Service, Today, Hardtalk and PM, as well as on NPR, SKY, Al-Jazeera and European network broadcasts. The Political Junkies plan to talk about “Democratic Women: from Women's Rights to Political Power.”  They are also prepared to comment on the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision changing law regarding corporations’ political contributions.

Please note the attached Membership Application.  To simplify our record keeping, we ask you to complete this form each year and to submit it, along with your check for dues and any contribution you might choose, to the treasurer by mail or to one of the officers at an OCDW meeting.  We ask you to renew your membership by March 31.
