Orange County Votes Make A Difference
Every Democratic vote that is cast in Orange County contibutes to a win for the
statewide and national candidates. Therefore, if Orange County can get out
many voters to cast votes for Kerry-Edwards, we can offset votes in other
counties for the opponent.
Often, Orange County voters ask where they can
help candidates in other counties. They seem to think that all our
candidates in Orange County are "safe."
Kerry-Edwards will carry Orange
County but that is not the whole senario. I content that an Orange County
resident is more likely to influence another Orange County voter to cast a
vote than get someone in another county to the polls. Orange County has a
history of not voting because our candidates are "safe." Both then Senator
Howard Lee and Congressman David Price lost elections in1994 because Orange
County voters did not vote and Wake County and Randolf County voted for the
other candidate.
